A regional insurance defense law firm focusing on first-party property, third-party property, and premises liability is hiring a Paralegal for its Fort Lauderdale, Florida office.
The qualified candidate must be a self-starter with critical thinking skills and significant litigation experience, as well as strong drafting skills.
Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team. Strong organization skills and attention to detail are critical.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and previous salary history but expected to be in the $75-90k range.
Job Duties:
- Reviewing, categorizing and analyzing records
- Organizing files, exhibits and documents for trials, mediations and depositions
- Assisting in the discovery process, preparing discovery requests and responses
- Drafting subpoenas, pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Preparing deposition outlines
- Correspondence with clients and experts
- Tracking and entering time
Requirements:
- Multiple years of insurance defense experience, FPP a big plus
- Professional in appearance and demeanor
- Paralegal certificate and minimum three years preferred
- Strong computer skills to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Florida General Statues and court procedures
